Product Description
Meet one of Australia's brightest natives. Our Lemon Myrtle Essential Oil is 100% pure and steam-distilled from the leaves of Backhousia citriodora, a tree found along the subtropical coast of Queensland and New South Wales. It carries one of the most intensely lemony aromas in the plant world — brighter and sweeter than lemon itself.
Fresh, zesty and instantly lifting, its vibrant citrus aroma is traditionally used in aromatherapy to uplift the mood, clear the mind and bring a clean, energising feel to any room.
Wonderfully versatile: diffuse a few drops to freshen and brighten your space, or add it to homemade cleaning blends for a naturally fresh finish. For the skin, Lemon Myrtle is potent — always dilute well in a carrier oil (0.7% maximum) and patch-test first, as it is rich in citral. It blends beautifully with other citrus oils, eucalyptus, and lavender.

Frequently asked questions
Is Lemon Myrtle the same as lemon oil?
No — they're different plants. Lemon oil is pressed from lemon peel; Lemon Myrtle is distilled from the leaves of an Australian native tree and has a far more intense, sweeter citrus aroma.
How do I use it in a diffuser?
Add 6–8 drops to the water in your diffuser. Its aroma is strong, so start with less and build up to suit your space.
Can I put it on my skin?
Only well diluted. Lemon Myrtle is high in citral and can irritate skin if used neat — always dilute to 0.7% maximum in a carrier oil and patch-test first.
What does it blend well with?
Other citrus oils, eucalyptus, lavender and lemongrass.
